Dear REMEDIGAP clients,

You’ve made a smart choice with your Medicare Supplement plan—it gives you nationwide access to doctors and hospitals without the restrictions of networks or prior authorizations. But every year, your Part D prescription drug plan and Medicare premiums can change…sometimes significantly.

This page will provide you CRITICAL UPDATES over the next few weeks. It is designed to help you stay ahead of the changes, protect your coverage, and avoid paying more than you should. You will be updated here and via email.

Update #4 (Scams & Ads)

✅ Quick checklist (for your fridge)

  1.  🔲 If contacted about a switch, I will call/email my agent Joann first:
    • Phone: 1-888-411-1329
    • Email: service@remedigap.com
  2. 🔲 I will not give my Medicare or Social Security number to a cold caller
  3. 🔲 I will not agree to any change over the phone
  4. 🔲 I will contact my agent if I don’t recognize the caller.

We’re here to protect your coverage & your pocketbook. If anything about an ad, call, or mailer feels confusing or rushed — call us first. A quick check with us can prevent mistakes & keep your coverage safe.

Protect Yourself Reminders

  1. Simple actions to protect yourself
  • Add our agency phone & email to your contacts so calls from us look familiar: 1-888‑411‑1329 • service@remedigap.com.
  • Let unknown calls go to voicemail — only return calls to numbers you verify.
  • Keep a file of any plan mail or emails and forward questions to us before acting.
  1. Pause & contact us
  • If you’re contacted about anything Medicare related, don’t agree to anything. Call or email us first: 888‑411‑1329 • service@remedigap.com.
  • We will check, verify, & tell you if it’s a good idea for your situation.
  1. Know the difference between plan types (why it matters)
  • Part D (Prescription drug): These plans can change every year during AEP (Oct 15–Dec 7). Premiums, drug lists (formularies), Tiers, and pharmacy networks can all change.
  • Medicare Supplement (Medigap): This is the plan you have. It fills gaps in Original Medicare (deductibles, Coinsurance), no networks— you can shop Medigap year‑round, & you keep Original Medicare access to your doctors.
  • Medicare Advantage (Part C): Replaces Original Medicare & has plan networks and rules. This is not what you have. These are the plans that the vast majority of ads are for.
  1. Red flags in ads, calls, or texts
  • “You must act now” or “limited‑time” pressure tactics
  • Requests for your Medicare number, Social Security number, or bank info over the phone
  • Promises that sound too good to be true (guaranteed approval, free drugs with no conditions)
  • Calls labeled as “Medicare” or “agent” but isn’t from Joann or Michael from REMEDIGAP.
  1. What to do if someone calls about switching

Ask for the caller’s full name, company, plan name, and a direct phone number. Tell them you’ll call back.

  • Do not give your Medicare or Social Security number to a cold caller.
  • Call us immediately at 888‑411‑1329 or email service@remedigap.com. We’ll confirm whether the call is legitimate and whether the change helps you.
  • If the caller says they’ll “switch you” now, say no — never agree to an on‑the‑spot enrollment.
  1. When you can switch plans (quick guide)
  • Part D (Drug): Review annually during AEP 10/15 through 12/5; changes take effect January 1.
  • Medicare Advantage (Part C): AEP is the main window to switch for most members. Some special enrollment periods may apply in specific situations.
  • Medicare Supplement (Medigap): Can typically be changed any time of year (subject to Underwriting). You do not need to change it during AEP.
  1. If you suspect a scam or are unsure
  • Contact us immediately at 888‑411‑1329 or service@remedigap.com — we’ll review and advise next steps. If you believe an unauthorized enrollment occurred, contact the plan, Medicare, and our office right away.

Update #3

⚠️ Why 2026 is Different

  • Part D premiums could rise up to $50/month
  • Out of pocket costs are capped at $2,100 (good news for those on costly meds, but premiums are rising as a result)
  • Medicare Supplement premiums are also seeing some of the biggest increases in years

This makes it critical to review both your drug plan and your Medigap policy to ensure you’re not overpaying.

Remember—you can shop Medicare Supplement plans anytime of year, not just during AEP.

✅ Reminders

  1. Always read your ANOC in September—don’t just glance at it. ⚠️ VERY IMPORTANT ⚠️
  2. Review your Part D plan every year—never assume last year’s plan is still the best.
  3. Calculate your total costs (premiums + Deductible + prescriptions).
  4. Make Part D changes by Dec. 7th—after that, you’re locked in for 2026.
  5. Ask for help if you’re unsure—it could save you hundreds.

Update #2 (Starting Oct. 15th)

*Critical/Please Read: Do not compare Part D plans before Oct. 15th. If you do, you will be getting 2025 plans and not 2026 Plans

💊 3: Part D Plan Checklist for 2026 (Starting Oct. 15)

Here’s what to gather before comparing plans:

  • List of all your prescriptions (name, dosage, frequency)
  • Your preferred pharmacy
  • Your current plan’s Premium and Deductible
  • Your ANOC for side-by-side comparison

How to Compare Plans (*Starting Oct. 15th):

  1. Use Online Tools (only after October 15th)
    • Medicare.gov Plan Finder
  2. Look Beyond the Premium
    • Add together: monthly premium × 12, deductible, and estimated annual drug costs.
  3. Check the Details
    • Are all your drugs covered?
    • Any new restrictions (like Prior authorization)?
    • Is your pharmacy still “preferred”?
  4. Review Plan Ratings
    • Choose plans with at least 4 stars if possible.

🌐 4: Helpful Medicare Resources

  • Medicare.gov → Compare official plan details
  • MyMedicare.gov → View your claims and personal Medicare info
  • REMEDIGAP.com → Free help with your Medicare Supplement plan

🆘 5: When to Ask for Help

You may be able to handle the changes yourself if:

  • You only take a few generic medications
  • Your ANOC shows little to no change

But consider getting help if:

  • You take expensive or brand-name medications
  • Your ANOC shows major changes
  • You’re losing your current plan
  • You’re simply overwhelmed by all the details

Update #1

📅 1: Key Dates for 2026

  • By Sept 30, 2025 → You’ll receive your ANOC. This is your “Annual Notice of Change” that your Part D company sends every year. Read it carefully.
  • Oct 15 – Dec 7, 2025 → Annual Election Period (AEP). This is when you can switch your Part D drug plan if needed.
  • Jan 1, 2026 → New coverage begins. Make sure your pharmacy has your updated info.

⚠️ 2: Read Your Annual Notice of Change (ANOC)

Each September, your drug plan must send you an Annual Notice of Change (ANOC). Don’t toss it aside—this information is extremely important.

Key Things to Check:

  • Premium Increases → Many Part D plans may rise by as much as $50/month ($600 a year).
  • Deductible Changes → Look for increases in your prescription deductible.
  • Formulary (Drug List) Updates → Make sure your medications are still covered and haven’t jumped to a more expensive tier.
  • Pharmacy Networks → If your pharmacy is no longer “preferred,” your drug costs could rise.

🚩 Red Flags that mean you should shop for a new plan:

  • Premium goes up more than $20/month
  • Medications are dropped or moved to a higher tier
  • Your pharmacy is no longer preferred
  • Your plan is being discontinued
