“Different insurance companies may charge different premiums for the same exact policy. As you shop for a policy, be sure you’re comparing the same policy (for example, compare Plan A from one company with Plan A from another company).”
This is a great safety net put in place by CMS to protect you. It allows you to compare “apples to apples” with the only difference being price. As you do your research, you’ll find out that price is a big factor. Although Medigap Plan benefits are standardized, their premiums can be quite different.
Another safety net put in place by CMS is the 30 day free look period. If you don’t want your Medigap plan, you can cancel it within the first 30 days for a full refund.
