Medicare Plan Finder Tool – What’s New?
The original version of the Medicare Plan Finder Tool is going away, and won’t be available to review your 2020 Part D drug plans. And, if you have Drug List ID and Password Date from previous years, you won’t be able to use it with the new Plan Finder. Change is hard. But, my newest video will walk you thru how to access Medicare’s new Plan Finder, so you can find the right Part D drug plan in 2020.

How to Use the New Medicare Plan Finder Tool
There are two ways to access the new Medicare Plan Finder Tool: 1) If you have a mymedicare.gov account, you can log into your account and review current drug plans. It’s a great idea to create a mymedcare.gov account (if you have a Medicare number) since this is the only way your medications will be saved; which allows you to review your options in subsequent years. 2) If you don’t have a Medicare number, then you can’t create a mymedcare.gov account and save your list of medications. However, you can still use Medicare’s new Plan Finder tool to review your prescription drug plan options without saving your medications.
Be on the lookout!
In September or October of each year, your current Part D (drug) plan company will mail you an Annual Notice of Change. This is an important notice explaining changes to your plan for the upcoming year. Note, some insurance companies are making changes that can impact you, so it’s important to pay attention to the Annual Notice of Change.
Final Thoughts
